Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born October 20, 1964, she is the 49th Vice President of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president, and she is also the most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a part of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition, she served as an United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She started her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. After that, she was enlisted to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was appointed district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010, she was appointed Attorney General of California and re-elected in 2014. From 2017 until 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election and became the second African American woman to serve in Congress and the first South Asian American American to serve in the United States Senate. She was a senator and campaigned for reforms to healthcare as well as federal cannabis de-scheduling an opportunity to become a citizen for immigrants who are not legally documented and the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons, as well as progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her outspoken questioning of Trump administration officials at Senate hearings. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual abuse.
